Sweat Potatoes in midstate New York.?

Question:I planted sweat potatoes here in Albany, New York. They are doing great. Can I expect a potato bug version for sweat potatoes to trash them.

Answers:
Maybe.

Sorry I cant resolve your question but I want to tell you that you are lucky to have a flourishing garden. Here in Brisbane we get some rain once in a few months and we are prohibited from using garden hoses.I have a big back yard with indigenous trees that is just languishing and suffering from dryness.I envy you for your garden
I have never heard of SWEAT potatoes. Do you mean SWEET potatoes? Sweet Potatoes are NOT actually potatoes, but the thickened root of a trailing tropical vine closely related to the morning glory!! You should have started with slips (rooted cuttings) that were certified as disease-free. Also look for disease-resistant varieties.

To avoid problems, do not grow sweet potatoes in the same garden location 2 years in a row.

Good Luck!
