Azalea plants?

Question:can you take cuttings from a azalea bush
and start a new one

Answers:
Yes you can, take the new growth in the spring, make sure it is at least three to four inches long. Take all the bottom leaves off and dip it into rooting hormone. Put the cutting into half sand and half potting mix that is damp, make sure that some of the rooting hormone is above the soil line. Take a plastic bag and blow into it then tie the top. Leave this for a few weeks, checking every few days to make sure it doesn't dry out. When you tug on the cutting and it resists your efforts you will know that the roots are starting to grow then you can move it into a regular pot with potting mix on its own. Place several cuttings in the mix because they may not all take. Good luck.

Yes, I don't know much about this, but my dad used to do it all the time when I was a kid. He had a wooden box in the backyard that was filled with dirt & the lid on top was hinged but it was just a lid frame filled in with a sheet of clear plastic. He'd start the cuttings in that using that box like a mini-greenhouse, then transplant them to the yard. There is probably better info than that available, but hope that helps.
