What would you rather watch, wood rot or metal rust?

Question:Say you live in the humid southeast like me and want to build some outbuildings .

Answers:
I would use rusty metal. Rotten wood stinks and attracts bugs.

why not brick
I would rather use wood as it is earth friendly.
say you use it as a truss or column or something concerning about the structural components of your house, it is both not pleasing to the eye. no more no less.

you have to protect them properly! NOW before its too late
What a pessimist.

Anyway, both are good for building.
Just do it right.
If you don't know how, as the impression of your question suggests, make friends of those that can.
Just return the favor in your manner, as equally as possible.
Colourbond, metal I would choose...
Use plastic. There are plastic products which come in dimensions similar to lumber. I believe its primary use is in the construction of decks. But it doesn't mean these items can't be used for other projects. Frame the outbuildings using these "plastic boards" and clad it with vinyl siding. Top it off with asphalt shingles.
Build them all out of metal. Any unpainted metal paint with red oxide paint. It'll last longer than you!
Use mason blocks for walls, concrete for floors, and fiberglass roofing painted white to reflect away heat. I grew up in Florida, know something about your dilemma. PS. If you want a metal structure, you can coat it with a product called Zbart. It is used mostly for car bodies to prevent rust due to salt content in air and humidity. It is guaranteed by manufacturer, but it is pricey. Best of luck.
wood rot.
Wood, so when you need to tear the building down, you can just burn it! metal would have to be hauled away or wait a looooong time for it to rust away1
do you want to paint and water proof or just paint? go with the new steel
I would rather see you become a master stone worker, no mortar and all jigsaw fitted walls.

But, if I had to choose, I'd say metal rust. Seems it would be faster and I get bored.
If the choice is metal or wood I would choose wood. you can do more with it and if you keep it painted it will last quite a while. Its just easier to build shelving in,or screw hooks into the wall or what have you. If you use treated lumber rot is unlikely.
I live in the Adirondacks so I am for wood...everything here is "rustic" :)
