Can you paint a batub?
Question:And if yes how would I do it and is there a special kind of paint I would have to use and how long would I have to wait to take a bath
Answers:
Short answer Yes; you can, but is is not particularly easy to do. Go down to a local paint shop; preferably one thats been around for awhile because they should know exactly what to give you. Some companies have kits made specifically for it, others will give you a special kind of 2 part epoxy that will work for some types of tubs. The benefit to these are they can be tinted to pretty much any color you want. They should tell you to sand the surface until there is no shine left on it; and then clean it really well; the last step is to apply the paint which will need to cure for several days to a few weeks depending on the product. be sure to have lots of ventilation; because the paint has a fairly potent odor that isnt especially good for you. Once it is applied, you will have to give it some time to cure, depending on the product, this could last anywhere from a few days on up to a week or 2
leave it to a professional, the paint job will last only a couple of years, you are better buying a tub insert it covers your whole tub and it is made out of fiberglass.
no. you must enamel it-enamel is like a glass paint/glaze that is baked on. you can paint the outside of the tub though.
no you cant paint it, you have to take it to a professional who will enamel it and fire it. costs about 2000 dollars when i saw it on this old house.
YES YOU CAN paint it! I already explained it to another person on here asking how to restore her sisters' tub and sink!
you cant paint but you can re-glaze it its pretty inexpensive. i would guess under 200 dollars to have a professional do it
Get some porcelain paint. It will be a bit pricey and you'll have to wait for it to dry at least 24 hours.
home depot and Lowe's has 2 types of bathtub paint kits, ones a spay can type, the other is roll on ,comes with all the necessary paint and supplies cost is around $25,
