I want to make my own shower doors,as the size i need for disabled bathroom is too expensive, any help please?
Question:dont know if i can make or buy frame and add perspex to it,can anyone help.
Answers:
Try a curtain rod along the top of the shower and just hang double shower curtains to close in the middle.
Use liner curtains to make the curtains heavier and add weight to keep them in place with an added barrier to keep the outside curtains dry.
Not only is it easy to use, but it decorates the room.
If you want to make a custom door anyway, you might use some *Lexan sheets you can buy at Lowes or places like it.
While you are there, ask for assistance to get the job done and compare costs of options.
this is fairy easy with a bit of D.I.Y
all u need is perspect glass from any good d.i.y store and they cut it to ur required size plus sume edging so to make the edges safe.brackets to fix to wall and the galvanized screws plus ur need to build a frame for extra strenght...
good luck..
Why not use a curtain? Is the door a must?
If you use glass it should be Tempered glass. If you don't and the glass breaks you will have large blades of glass coming down on you. The glass you buy at a DIY store will not be tempered. You temper the glass after you cut it to the exact size you need. You will need to go to a window/glass contractor.

(Example only do some research)
You can find the hardware separate for the glass you just need to make sure the hardware can carry the width and weight of the door.
No problem. have done it myself.
What you need is to buy some double glazing plastic trim
and double glazing hinges to suit same .Cut the plastic to size and trim round your clear plastic, slide in the hinges and fix the whole door to the frame.
Be carefull! Shower doors must be made from an unbreakable glass or other product. Standard glass is not acceptable as when it breaks it will splinter and can cause cuts or even death.
What about a shower curtain?
