How do you treat a 5000 gallon inflatable pool with chemicals?
Question:We just bought an 18' round pool from Walmart. It's about 4 foot deep and holds approx. 5500 gallons of water. I am confused on what chemicals to put in the pool. My husband bought one of those 1 lb 4in1 pool shock packs. He poured half of this in the pool. What else do we need to do??
Answers:

Sounds silly, but

has the information that you need
I have a 9,000 gallon pool (21ft by 13 ft x 41/2ft) The only thing I do is put in 1 bag of pool shock weekly (be sure to spread it about the pool to keep it from bleaching the bottom, or buy the kind that will not bleach, it's a little more expensive, though), Keep 2 chlorine tablets in the floater at all times, pour in about 3oz of clarifier 2x a week and add a little algeacide every week, check the pH daily and add pH increaser as necessary. I haven't had a problem with my pool yet, the water stays blue and clear. Also, if you have any trees close to your pool, you'll want to be sure and keep the skimmer clear of debris and vaccuum the pool at least every other week to help keep the bottom clean.
Since your pool is smaller than mine, you'll want to adjust the amount of chemicals. Hope this helps.
