How do i convert sq meters to lineal meters.to work the cost of my deck area 185 sqm width of board 90mm@ $3lm
Question:
Answers:
You have a deck that is 185sqr meters. to get this area covered by Each $3 board which is 90mm or 9 cm or 0.09M, X 1M or 0.09 sqr meters:
Divide 185 by 0.09 = 2055 meters
to get cost multiply X $3 = about $6600
Note: this is a huge deck, whith a footprint the size of a small house.
Why go through all that. You must know the width and length of your deck. Divide the width by the width of your planks to see how many planks you need to cover your total width. The length is even easier if you have various lengths available from your lumber source.
Hi,
To make up a total Sq.metre size the length and width can vary, if you know one dimension then it can be divided into the total to give you the other length.
Usually though you just work from the total size (Sq.M) and the board size.
There are 1000 mm in a metre. You know the boards are 1m long so you only need to know how many to make the width.
So 1000/90= 11.11 boards so now you know it will take 11 boards to make up just under 1 Sq.M.

It depends on if you plan a space between your decking boards or not.
If not, width of deck devided by width of boards = number of runs. Number of runs times length of deck gives you linear measurement. You may have to convert to meters. If it comes out to an uneven number, round off to the next highest even meter.
If yes then, Width of deck devided by (width of board plus space)= number of runs. The rest is same as above.
