Difference in duraplex and lexan plexi glass?
Question:Cost is a big difference, using for a door to rv camper instead of screen. Need to know if it will hold up and not warp, sturdy, or yellow.
Answers:
Lexan is polycarbonate, not plexiglass and is extremely tough and shatter proof.
It is considered "Burglar Resistant" not burglar proof because the burglar might have an acetylene torch or a circular saw, you cant break it by smashing, they use it for machine guarding. It comes in scratch resistant and UV resistant, and it aint cheap, but its the best stuff out there.
Any other clear plastics that are not polycarbonate,(acrylic etc.) will shatter if struck hard enough.
I am not familiar with the trade name Duraplex, but if it's plexiglass, it will shatter if struck.
