How Do You Keep Your House Cool In The Summer?
Question:i have no a.c or pool and its mad hot is it better to keep the windows open or closed? i put blankets up over my windows to keep the sun out does that help?how can i cool down just my room?

Put a fan in the window at night to bring in the cool night air.
During the day if your room gets real hot, Turn the fan around so its blowing the hot air from your room outside.
Or you could try just closing the window during the day... But, Careful ...
get an electronic fan, or one of those solar energy ones, and hook it up it your room, i have this really great one from the source, that has a timer and everything, it not expensive and it doesn't use alot of electricity, i got mine for like 100 buck on sales, a fan is the best thing trust me i know.....
this works really good and it stays so cool.
i put a colored board in my windows and it blocks out the sun light and if you really want to get you can funny pictures on the colored part of that board so it's not to look plan and boring, it can look nice or funny but it will keep blocking out the sun light and keep you room very nice and cool,
remember to take the measure twice and cut it once, and then make sure you have duck tape to border the out lines of your board and so it's to cover the window.

If you don't have an attic fan, get a box fan and place it in a window with breeze facing outside on one end of your house. Open just one window on the opposite end (for best effect, your bedroom window). You will be able to feel the air circulating through the house. It's best to do this at night when it's cooler. If your house is hotter than the outside during the day, I would open all the windows and try to get away if it's unbearable. If your house is cooler - even just slightly cooler - than the outside, then close all the windows and blinds and keep out as much light as possible until you can open them again once the sun goes down.
Get a big 360 degree revolving fan. They are soooooo nice in the summer.
Keep the windows closed during the day, shades too, to keep the sun out..Then open them at night when the air cools down..
Buy a fan... or leave the windows opened and open all the doors of the house.. ( and at te same time itrefreshes the rooms.)
well i keep my house cool in the summer 1st put all the fans on high n the air conditioning at 74 degrees n don't open any Windows or keep doors open for very long or else the heat from outside might come in
