Water-proofing cardboard?

Question:im building a fort out of carboard. what can i use to water-proof it? its pretty large, so should i cover it with something or coat it or leave something on top of it, and then what should be used?

Answers:
Use a cheap blue tarp, most discount stores have them at low cost, for a temporary cover, you could go with a simple plastic drop cloth though the tarps are not that much more expensive.

use a tarp.
If I was going to coat it with something it would be wax. You can buy paraffin wax at the store...melt it down...but not too hot and coat the cardboard with that. This will not work if your fort is going to be in direct sunlight or be in a warm place.

The other choice is to use latex paint. The same stuff they use to paint houses. A couple coats of that will water proof from general moisture. I might not work in a complete downpour. You will want to make sure you have a good roof so that water runs down and away from the fort in a rain storm. If you have gaps that you can't seal with the paint, then get some all weather caulking for that and seal it up and then paint.

Good luck!
The cheapest would be to buy black or white plastic sheeting from hardware or garden shop, and staple it to cardboard.f you wanted to really do it well, I would buy some Silicone aerosol spray and spray on.From hardware or supermarket.
