Hey You're Smart! Homemade locks for diary?
Question:I need creative and effective ways to keep your diary closed from snooping eyes. (I don't want to write "KEEP OUT" on the cover!) My diary is always out and about wherever I go, and I really need help. It's not really a diary; its a crappy spiral notebook designated for my daily thoughts. There has to be someway to keep it closed. I have a hole puncher, rubber bands, staples and little knick knacks like that and there has to be someway to put it together...

how bout getting a mini-chain and lock,,,like the locks used on luggage,,,and get a cheap jewlery chain that was intended to be a really long necklace..
or,,,,with all your rubber bands, create an order, a certain order or color code that you would remember only.and that any fool who tried to undo/open your diary would get all mixed up and they wouldnt be able to follow, does that make sense? some colors this way ( across), some the other way (updown), certain ones overlapping eacg other.that kind of thing...
Even if you lock it, then someone could still get into it by breaking the cover. If I were you, I'd hide it. There's nothing worse than someone reading your diary, it's the worst invasion of privacy for a young person. But I'll tell you, rubber bands and staples aren't going to keep snooping eyes out. Just keep it hidden altogether.
you can glue two strips of pretty fabric to the insides of the covers, and use them to tie a fancy bow to 'lock' your diary. But i agree with the first comment too, always hide your journal...but a bow would look super pretty too. =)
