How to mend a chip on a marble table?

Question:My son bought a nice wrought iron wine rack with a beautiful marble top recently - a small 3/4" chip on the edge occurred as it was moved from the wedding site to home - is there something we can buy/mix or try to cover/fill/blend in so it isn't so noticable? He was greatly saddened about it when they returned from their honeymoon. Thanks.

I have a suggestion. No LINKS,,,sigh.

Have you the chipped piece? OR can you access a Marble Dealer?

There is no way to hope for a perfect repair/match, but I have made minor repairs this way.

I happened to have the chipped off piece, and ground it up as much as possible. I mixed the stuff with epoxy and formed it into the damaged area. certainly it wasn't perfect but allowed that the repair wasn't so visible.
I would suggest grinding that area so it is uniform. Maybe a 1/8" square 1/16" thick, or whatever the thickest portion is.
Then buy a piece and have it ground to the dimensions you require and "crazy glue' it in there - use a clamp to hold it tight if you use some other glue ( they may have glue just for this purpose).
You should be able to use a rotary tool for the necessary grinding. you want a level and square section that needs to be repaired, or at least this is the way I'd go.
I think it will be so much easier to fit it this way, rather than reproducing that exact chip's shape & varying thickness.
