I got a rotery tool/dremill... what do i use it for?
Question:give me some ideas on how it can be used. and what cool things i can do with it
Answers:
I think this may make more sense if I start off with an example...
If I wanted to cut a flat piece of wood into the shape of a duck (not 3d, just flat) and paint it for my friends yard, could I do that with a handsaw or a circular saw (think about the size of the blade and turning it)?
Maybe, but it would be ugly as hell right?..right. OK, the dremil tool is designed to let you cut easily just about any shape you want in anything that the bit can handle.
Here's some examples; drywall holes for shower heads/pipes or for electrical outlets/boxes, cutting circles in wood for bird house holes, cutting out stupid designs that you can paint in wood, you can also use it to round over edges, and make what we call "plunge" cuts. These are cuts where you don't cut from the outside of wood in, you actually puncture the object with the tool on and start to cut out your shape "inside" of the full piece of material you are working with.
There's a ton of things but my hands are starting to hurt here... :)
well there are many things you can do with it it can be used for polishing metal with the cloth wheel it can be used as a cutoff tool for metal it can be used as a drill and with the proper bits and a steady hand you can use for wood engraving and can be used for fine detail work if you like refurbishing old wood furniture its got bits that get in to all the little crevices the possibilities are end less
your nails.. ok ok it can take a ton of differant attachments like a metal cutting blade (incase you ever get a pair of handcuffs locked and cant get off) or a dimond tip to cut the grout out of tile, or burnishing tips to do wood carving... so many options to play with. have fun exploring
Don't let yourself be limited to doing major tasks with it. Look at this site.

Hi, You can do billions of things! Cut rusted bolts off, cut plumbing drain pipe, cut wood , clean rust off of stuff, polish jewelry, sand your finger nails, or wood, drill holes in things, sharpen kitchen knifes or garden tools, cut glass bottles into and then sand them to make them smooth where you've cut, smooth rough edges,is that enough? I do all of the above with mine. I make little wooden dolls .The hands move as well as all their joints and the heads move up and down, back and forth. We recently lost our parents, but I made a Mom doll, and a Dad doll that looks just like them, and now I don't feel like their gone forever(But I know they are) I love those little dolls and wished I had made them sooner so Mom and Dad could have seen them. Dremel Tools are a blast!
