I need help with tiling?
Question:how do you get tile adhesive off cement? i am renovating my house and we cant get it off with out a chizle, and thats chipping the cement floor, im stumped guys, HELP PLEASE

Certainly how YOU define "adhesive" matters. Tile is most often installed with Mortar, much like cement. After installing thousands of sq. ft. of it, I've never used a Mastik such as Liquid Nails.
If in fact is its an "adhesive" there are products available to help soften it. One thing you might want to have checked is the actual substance of the residue.
Obviously you could spend a lot of dollars buying things that don't work, plus expend time and energy better spent.
I can't know how you might be using a "Chisel" but there are floor scrapers solf specifically for the purpose as well. I'm in the middle or re-doing 11,000 sq. ft. of porrly installed tile over concrete.
The CHIPPING might come from not actually "scraping" but having the chisel at the wrong angle, and perhaps using a hammer?

are you referring to a mastic, or a mortar? What type of tile over what type substrate? Ir you have mastic on concrete dont bother to remove it . prime the floor and use a modified thinset, if ceramic, if vinyl then open all windows and doors, get some wide bladed scrapers, some lacquer thinner, DOD 3 respirators and kill all the pilot lights and elect, and have fun
The best way to get off old adhesive is to use an adhesive remover. Some are made for specific types of adhesive, others are more general. Go to your local home center or paint shop and ask about the adhesive removers they carry. Here's a great article about removing adhesive with a bit more details.

If the adhesive you are talking about is thinset mortar it's going to be some work. The best way I've found to remove it is with a pneumatic scraper. Go down to your local rental yard and get a big electric air compressor and tell them you want an "air scraper". The one I use is make by EDCO. It's about 5ft. long with a little s-bend about half way up, it also has thin 4in blade(not razor blade.) This is by far the best and easiest way to clean mortar off of concrete. GET SOME EAR PLUGS!
really depends on the type of adhesive! i have in the past removed old adhesive by dampening with water and warming with a steam iron or using a wallpaper steamer however if the base is sound why not get laytex self levelling flooring compound and merely coat over the old adhesive, i have done this many times in the past with no problems
