Is it safe to connect a power strip to a power strip?

It depends on what you are powering. Obviously if you are powering 3 electric heaters and a vacuum cleaner you are asking for trouble.
If you need more outlets to power your computer, monitor, printer, modem ETC, then you will have no problem.
Since a lot of the old FPE breakers don't trip when they are overloaded it is bad advice to just try it and see if the breaker trips. If you do overload the circuit and the breaker does not trip you would have a fire.
You can add up the amount of currant all the appliances you are connecting to the power strips draw and make sure it is not exceeding what the circuit can handle. Most likely 15 amps.
That's generally a bad idea, because you can end up overloading the circuit the original power strip is attached to. If you've got good circuit breakers, the worst that will happen is you'll trip a breaker. But if your breakers are shoddy, it could easily cause an electrical fire.
Most people say it isn't but I've done it many times without any ill effects. As long as you're not overloading it, no worries.
probaly not!!
Yes, assuming you are not useing all the ports at one time and overloading your electrical system. You should never put more than 2 things on at once on the same plug. And only 1 heat generating element per receptical.
It all depends on what you are powering with the strips. It would be best if you had the strips on seperate breakers, but if that's not possible then go for it. If you trip the breaker, then move one of the strips to another outlet.
Good luck.
