How do you think which color is better for wainscoting?

Question:

Answers:
Which leads to the question, what color are your walls? You can either match it to the wall or go a few shades lighter or darker. I would not do a complimentary color unless you want it to really "strap" the room.

Typically wainscoting is done in a color that binds your room colors it is mostly either natural or white.

Certainly to ask that you must believe there might be hundreds of different answers. The color choices we make are dictated in part, by what already exists, our desire to make changes, our own, personal color preferences, and/or what we saw on some home makeover TV show, etc. etc. etc..

Depending on your individual plan for a room that will include Wainscote, it may be that you want a stained or natural grain look? It may be that the molding is purely decorative and will divide two different colors, it may be that the bottom color or top (at your choice) becomes the same color of the molding, it may be that it's drastically different but complimentary?

In the end You will have to live with it, be comfortable with it, and hope others are complimentary about it.
