Probably; however, most of the time the superglue you get from the dollar store is out of date and may dry up faster. Use it up quickly and you may never notice the difference.

Answer number two is correct in that one should check shelf life and expiration dates on consumables, as discount stores may buy older merchandise, even in a brand name, which has been pulled from the inventories of Name Stores, or run past dates the manufacturer has imprinted.
I offer one example (general) and wish you well. Many items sold here and worldwide are mass produced, for distribution to specific brand sellers. Certain Power tools are one example, as is clothing. The manufacturer, no matter where they are, IE: China...gets an order, creates a product; the product is labeled with 3 or more BRAND labels, and sold as such to the general public. With clothing it may be the same or a similar pair of Jeans is manufactured, then labeled to be sold as Hilfiger, Gap, or Sears brand.

my experience is that it works OK the first time but it doesn't seem to keep as mine always seem to dry hard when I try to use it a second time.

the same it all sticks your fingers together the same.
I used this super glue that came from a hobby shop for model making it will not dry until you spray the hardner on it . best i ever used.
