In Sydney, Is there any store like Home Depot?

Question:I would like to do some home improvment by myself. Where can I buy the materials around Sydney?

Answers:
Australia {Sydney} doesn't have anything quiet like Home Depot. Home Depot has a lot more variety.

If you are after hardware supply's, tools, timber, paint, plumbing, garden, outdoor living, Lighting and Electrical things then the best place to go is Bunnings.

Bunnings has several smaller outlets around Sydney but they don't carry the full range of stock. I recommend going to there mega warehouse stores like the one in Belrose

If you are after furniture, white goods such as fridges, freezers and clothes washers, electronics, computer technology, cameras, bedding, bathroom, kitchen and so on the the best place to go is Harvey Norman.

I live in Sydney and plan staying indoors today (Saturday morning) I can see the ocean from where I live and the waves are hugh the wind is terrible and the garden is nearly washed away with this weekends rain and last weekends storms.
Whats the weather like where you are?

I have no real clue but have to believe so. Certainly a WWW search can test this.

I can't imagine there not being similar, much as there is in the UK. Plus with Australia now moving heavily into FIJI and realEstate and expansion of construction, material has to come from somewhere NOT imported.
