Has anyone with an in-ground swimming pool ever changed the top of a sand filter? any suggestions?

if you do not have the wrench that usually comes with a sand filter then you will have to use a screwdriver and hammer to take off the old one. the top is probably brittle from sunshine and chemicals. the only side affect is that you will have to have a new top, oring,air bleeder and gauge.and then get the large plastic wrench that goes with it. u can take theses parts along with the filter information to your nearest pool store and get the parts i told u about.when you put the new top back on. you should use magic lube on the oring before you install the new oring.
