Yesterday cut off wire changed by EDF contractors and fridge not working now?
Question:They came yesterday to rewire the cut off wire on the meter. I had almost everything unplug expect for the washer dryer and fridge. I have a switch on the wall that turns the power off from the socket being used for these two appliances. I turned the switch on the wall off and left the fridge plugged in with the socket on. It would have involved a lot of lifting and even then socket for the fridge is in a very awkward position to get to. I have left the fridge on all night and it is not the slightest bit cold. How can I tell if the fridge is broke? Also if the power from the electricity when it was turned back on broke where could I get it fix and more importantly how much would it cost?

Search around. Somepkace is a fuse box or a breaker box. One of the circuits has tripped the breaker or fuse. It should be evident which circuit is bad. Either reset the breakler, or replace the fuse.
the fridge works? The light comes on inside? Use an extension cod and try another outlet. That would be their cost not yours. Besides it would not break the fridge. otherwise that would happen the first time you plugged the fridge in from new. Maybe in their rewiring there is no power to the outlet to the fridge. Otherwise, though I have never seen it on a unit, you need to look for a reset button at the back of the fridge near the motor..
