What is the diameter of a standard beer can?
Question:I am using Miller Lite cans to make a beer pong table and I want to draw out the plans in AutoCad beforehand.
Answers:
Take a tape measure around the can to get the circumference of the can. Then use the equation for circumference of a circle (C=2ttr or C= ttD) to figure the diameter. Keep in mind that tt (referred to as pi) = approx. 3.14 - that's the standard.
For example, let's say you measure the circumference of the circle at 6 inches. Then use the equation, 6 = 3.14d. Divide both sides by 3.14 to get the diameter. That means that the diameter of the can would be 1.91 inches.
Hope that this helps.

The cans are 5.5 inches (14 cm) in diameter.
