Wood boring bees?
Question:
Answers:
They are called carpenter bees
I've been at war with those little bastards for a couple years now on my property. :(
They keep drilling into the beams in my shed. One of those "hot shot spray cans" work good. Shoot it into the hole and they come out and die.
Unfortunately, nothing other than nuclear warfare can prevent those damn things. :( LOL
I like to shoot some "Great Stuff" into the hole. It fills the hole, and entombs the bee for future archaeologists.
Bumblebees are large black bees with a white band around their mid-section. They will bore into wood. If you see a bumblebee hovering in the air, look closely at it's face. If it is white, it will not sting and can be caught in mid-air. Amaze your friends. They won't be brave enough to try it. If they have a black face, they will sting and it will feel like you have grabbed a hot iron rod. Black faces will not normally hover.
Carpenter bees. They arent very aggressive. I liive in a wooded area. I just use flying insect spray walkk right up and start spaying. Once they leave I spray all the exposed wood. They dont usually come back until the next season.
