What is the best brand of chemical stripper?
Question:"Klean Strip" Stripper did not do anything!
I am trying to strip a cheep dining table. It has some kind of clear thick top coat and white painted leggs. It did not bubble or react to the "clear" coat or the paint. Help!

I've used JASCO stripper. Works great, but you have to use a stripping tool of some sort. I've used a stripping brush to remove the paint/finish. Simply applying the stripper and waiting doesn't do to much, you have to put a bit of elbow grease to help get the paint or finish off.
I just stripped 700 sqft. of oil based lacquer floor finish with the JASCO stuff and a combination of stripping brush and plastic stripping scraper. Did wonders for me.
For something with odd shapes, such as your table legs, the brush should come in handy. The stripping scraper should handle the flat surfaces such as the tabletop.
Formby's!
HANDY MAN. It comes in a "buzz can"
However, be VERY careful...it's very strong. Not only does it remove paint but it can remove your skin very effectively too!
Look for it at most hardware stores.
I would check to see if it is oil based first by holding a lighter to it to see if it bubbles. If it does its oil and you can use a torch and scrapers to remove it. If it burns it is latex and then I would reccomend the type of stripper that comes in a spray can at Lowes. But dont get the one that smells like oranges because it doesnt work. Good Luck:)
caustic soda and wallpaper paste., but be careful it burns your skin
