I've sold thousands of sq. ft. of laminate and the truth is don't buy laminate. laminates are considered to be commodity goods and have no monetary value. Buy real wood or ceramic they will perform better last 5x longer and add monetary value to your home at nearly the same cost. oh, by the way " high Density" is referring to core board of the product and really no bearing on quality. If you decide to buy laminate, which i hope you don't, buy Wilson Arts Estates collection because it is the best product when it cames to laminates.
I've installed thousands of sq. ft. of various types of flooring, and with all due respect it's not only a brand name, but a catch phrase, designed in part, to sell the product. Ad Hype is a major issue in todays markets. A really abstract example is "HIGH Quality".Quality has no degrees. Something is or it isn't, a quality product.
Laminates obviously are manufactured in various methods and minor variances in composition and thickness. They are however subject to standards and have limits in competetive bounderies.
Comparative shopping is the best method you can employ, and gauge your needs versus price, substances, longevity, etc.
All need underlayments as well and even those are sold in various degrees.

I have never seen or heard of a brand called High Density. After installing hundreds of laminate floors and never hearing of it, I tend to believe it is not a high quality product. You may be confusing part of the description for a brand. HDF or high density fiber is what the board itself is made of. Some good laminates are Pergo, Armstrong Swiftlock, DuPont, and the higher end Kronotex. I would stay away from any kind of Easylok or Easylok 2, Click X, or any laminate that costs $0.99 per ft.
