DIY: How do I make my own 10-gallon screen cover for a 10-gall aquarium?

Question:What are the dimensions of a 10-gallon tank lid?

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easy to make your own lid instead of buying one for $15 at petco or petsmart?

THANKS!

Answers:
Hi, I made a screen cover for my 40 gal turtle tank thinking it would be cheaper... I should have just bought one as after a few years the one I made is kinda flimsy. besides, depending on what kind of critter you are housing, (say a hamster) it may escape.

That being said, I used wooden corner moulding, screen and a staple gun. I had husband cut the pieces on an angle so they fit together nice in the corners, then just stapled the screen to it.

good luck. :-)

I think it would be better to buy one at petsmart or another local store that sells them. unless you already have the stuff to make one. You can check google or ask to see what comes up if you havent already.
Just spend the $15 and buy one. Less frustrating than trying to make on and not fit, then how much would you spend.
