Have old bathroom floor tile that needs to be replaced. Any tips on how to make it look presentable for a year
Question:Will be replacing it in a year .
Answers:
Grout cleaner does wonders.
If the room is small enough, you could buy some inexpensive carpeting and cut and lay it down. (no tacking). Or, just buy a few area rugs at different sizes and cover up the most damged part of the flooring. :) Good luck!
I think Jennifer deserves the 10. It's not only the most logical way to go on many levels, but certainly it can be endured for a year.
Anything to actually improve the look of the tile,,,and you don't detail its condition in your Q,,, would be somewhat labor intensive.
If you read this website it really explains it all. I did it and I'm a female.

Good Luck!
Throw rugs are a great tempoary fix but you don't want to put carpeting (wall to wall) in a bathroom. Water gets in it and rots the underflooring and not all guys have that great of aim and that just leads to YUCK!
Try the inexpensive self adhesive vinyl floor tiles or just get a floor paint and paint the floor, If this is the main bathroom i wouldn't use carpet as you closet bowl will sweat in the summer with many flushes, along if you have boys with a bad point of direction the carpet will get wet and start stinking.
i would try sanding just a little of the grout out of the groves and regrout. if its not to big a bathroom. you can get some cheap tools and buy more grout. its not that hard and gives you the same look you have now.
