How do I figure out how many square feet I need to tile the wall in my kitchen?
Question:We are remodeling our kitchen and want to know how many square feet I have on the wall so that I may know how many tiles I need and how much it will cost me. I have already measured and got length X height, but am now unsure what to do.
Answers:
the measurement will be a combination of different areas. One or more should be from the height of the work surface to the underside of your wall units x the length of run. Then there is the areas that will reach to the floor or if like some people possibly the ceiling. All you need do is times the length by the depth of all the areas that you wish to tile. Once you have done this then simply add them all together. When you go to the tile shop and choose the type of tile you like give the assistant the measurement and they will be able to tell you how many tiles you will need. Don't forget that different tile sizes mean differant number of tiles . Don't forget to consider the type and colour of grouting that you would like.
You are already there. Just take measurements to tile store and they will figure the square feet needed, this includes square footage plus breakage plus overage, unusable cut offs plus so many to keep in case one chips or cracks in the future. Source contractor, hope this is helpful. Also your square footage can change depending on tile size and layout.
2 metres long x 2 metres wide = 4 metres etc 2 measurements for each wall then add them together, subtract doors, windows and bath. Otherwise, measure room walls individually and take them to a tile shop and let them work it out.
multiply length times the height this will give you your square feet
