it's about to be baned in Australia due to safety reasons & I'm suprised it's not already baned in america
there are much safer chemicals avalable to you and your pest controller in fact i would go so far as to say don't use a PCO who uses it
Combat Roach Traps--used this product when we first find roaches in our house about four years ago and since then hasn't seen not one roach. You can find this product at Wal-Mart, Walgreen, etc.
Clean you house first of all and then use BORIC Acid Powder. You can buy this product at Home Depot, Kmart and places of the sort. Sprinkle the boric acid behind sinks, refrigerators, behind washers, places where the is food and moisture. Try fumigating the home first with some Raid Fumigation can for extra protection
I just purchased a home that was plagued with the little buggers in a Philadelphia townhome (people live in some really disgusting conditions). Within a week, I rid the whole house of them. Haven't seen em since.
A chemical campaign is usually the most effective. (But nothing is guaranteed with roache)
You should spray weekly for a while. Spray where ever you see them most. Spray into cracks and crevices. Spray under and around appliances, especially if they are a heat or food source. (A refrigerator is both.) Use a different poison every month or so. Use powdered poisons too. Sprinkle them around the baseboards and under appliances.
Eliminate their sources of food and water. Clean the kitchen thoroughly after every meal. Take the trash out each night. Dry the sinks before retiring for the evening.
Eliminate or frequently disrupt any potential nesting locations. (Behind pictures, amongst dirty laundry, close to a refrigerator's compressor or condensor, etc...)
Check your house for cracks. (Especially in the kitchen.) Seal cracks with a siliconized caulk.
Good Luck!
1 tablespoon sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 teaspoon boric acid. mix and place where yhey hide.
Sprinkle Naftalena under the furnitures. If you don't know what it is, ask the grocery shop or chemist shop (I used it for an electrolysis experiment once). I don't know its common english name is but in my language we called it 'Ubat Gegat'. Anyway, its cheaper.
Its a continous fight. Been doing it for years until a friend told me the secret.
Keep all your outside food in quality plastic containers with excellent seals. Have no papers laying around open and also place them in plastic covers or bags, they can live from the words off the ink. Keep everything clean & dry. That was the key, no more Roaches.
You didn't indicate where you live, but, in the US there is a product called Dursban. This product is sold in most states in hardware stores, and is a very good pesticide. Professional exterminators use this product. And because they do, it is not available to the public in some areas. In Texas it is sold under the Spectracide label.
If you can get it, a 1/2 percent solution, sprayed around baseboards, doorways, under appliances, and places where roaches hide will get rid of them. This product is not for use on food preparation surfaces, and should not be sprayed where your pet eats or sleeps. It does go away over time, particularly in places where there is sunlight, so you should repeat the application after a month the first time, and then about once per quarter after that.
buy home brand surface spray and spray all window ledges and around bottom of doors [lasts for weeks]no more roach problem
