How do I make clear, hydroponic growing gel ?

Question:I'm looking for a really simple but effective recipe for making a colourless gel for growing plants in so that I can display them in glass vases and other transparent containers, thanks.

Answers:
You can purchase water absorbing crystals in the garden section, just mix a very small amount of nutrients with water and all the crystals. walah

Try wallpaper paste, i saw a programme and Alan Titchmarsh did it once on tele. the plants should take the water from the paste.

Plus when you've finished you can do a spot of decorating
