Is there a way to build a pig cooker easily withouth welding?

Question:i would like a simple pull behind pig cooker that is cheap and easy to make (charcoal) but I dont have the welding skills necessary to build the ones that I have seen plans for

Answers:
Cut a barrel lengthwise with a hacksaw, hammer the bottom flat, then put the grilling wires over it. As far as a "pull behind", just carry it on a trailer.

I've seen some BBQ pig grillers made out of 55 gallon drums or larger that work very well. You can grill or smoke in them.

Check out the link below for plans.

Check out plans for a "caja china" ("Chinese box", named for a cooking method of Chinese immigrants to Cuba), and also known as a cajun microwave. Very traditional method of cooking a pig for "noche buena" on Christmas Eve by Cubans, with awesome results. You can buy a finished box, but more fun to build. Below, see link to a 1) finished box retailer , 2) link to how to do the whole thing, from picking your pig, to making a cinder block box, to cooking.

But do a little web searching. Plans everywhere. The box my friends use is a wood box, with a galvanized garage drip pan for the bottom and top, and the pig is secured with metal fence material - works great - and a little hole to insert a probe thermometer to monitor the temperature. It does not use metal to line the inside, and works fine.
If you can find an old heating oil pig(tank) in someone's basement, I'm sure they would be happy to get rid of it.
Cut it half and hinge it.
Don't forget to clean it.
