Dent in wall.?
Question:How do I fix a dent the shape of a foot in my wall in under fifteen minutes?
Answers:
If it's not too deep you could do a quick fix by smoothing with wallboard/joint compound. If it's deep the compound will have to be applied in a couple of applications so it doesn't shrink & crack. To do it right on deep dent cut out the unsightly footprint with a razor knife, cut a peice of drywall to fit insert a peice of 1 x 4 inside the hole (long enought to catch top & bottom of the remaining drywall) Screw the drywall to the wood it will pull tight to the existing drywall, mud the seam where you cut it with wallboard/joint compound lay joint tape over the seams and re-apply thin coat of compound, let it dry sand smooth, prime & paint
Frost it with mud. You know, that stuff you use for bedding and taping. Fill up the dent, smooth it off, level with the rest of the wall, prime and paint. And how on earth did you get a foot shaped dent in your wall? Or should I use my imagination? It'll take more than 15 minutes, because you have to wait for it to dry, but the initial fill shouldn't even take that long.
Plaster of paris. Quick setting gypsum. Good luck!
