Question:the gap between the carpet and tile is about 2". please help i've bought like $50 dollars worth of coverings and grout. the grout just looks ugly and the ones that you nail made me crack my tile.

Answers:
Glue down a wood T mold.

that should do the trick.

A metal transition strip. They come in all sorts of widths and styles.
You probably only need to nail it on the carpet side.
Good question.....Im assuming the carpet and the tiles are on the same level (with a 2" gap that needs to be filled)...hmmmmmm...the first thing that comes to mind is a 2" strip of wood, or rubber? maybe metal , yeah Id use some kind of aluminium flashing maybe with a rubber backing?
The best way is to put a transition strip down when you put your tile down, but we forgot this to. So we were able to just find a transition strip that come in many differ colors, widths, and lengths and nail this down to cover up the space and nail it down through carpet.
You could probably take the strip you have and turn it around and nail it to the carpet, not by the tile. Good Luck.
wood or aluminum transom strip.
