Running wires through a corner wall.?

Question:We're having a electrician come in and running some wires for us for a new outlet. Hes gonna pull power from an existing outlet (not used) which is about 3ft away on an adjacent wall (L shaped corner). We're in an apartment and theres no attic or basement so my question is how will he get the wire across that corner? Im not attempting this myself since I dont wanna electricute myself or anything just want to get a heads up on what this guy is gonna do and if hes doing it right.

Answers:
dont listen to the other answers; if he's good he will cut the drywall open and route the new power in thru the studs and then patch up the drywall; notching is lame and wiremold is lame too. except most electricians wont patch the drywall afterwards ; he'll tell you to hire a drywaller... I am a Electrical Contractor and I patch my walls and leave with everything finished. I get lots of referrals for the Total Service. Hire a Good Electrician!

He will probably use a locator (which locates the wire throught the wall). Then notch the wall to make sure it is the right wire. Then use a phish to get it to the adjacent wall ( long wire with hook to pull it through)
if he does it the right way. he will remove the existing electrical outlet box and he will have to drill through the next joist to get the wires through. if he can't get the drill to reach he will have to make holes in your drywall. normally it is upto you to fix this. the other way is to use a product like wiremold which is a surface mount raceway. it may not be as pretty but he won't have to make any holes.
There are 2 ways of doing it he will eithier have to notch the sheetrock and stud or he could remove the baseboard and notch the studs behind the molding but he will prob. do the first thing I said it is easier to repair. You are responsible for the repairs.
HAVE HIM PULL THE BASEBOARD OFF AND NOTCH THE DRYWALL AND STUDS. OR BETTER YET, YOU COULD DO THAT AND SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY. THEN HE JUST HAS TO CONNECT TO THE CURRENT OUTLET AND RUN THE WIRE IN THE NOTCHES YOU MADE. YOU CAN DO IT.
pahump1 is correct no notching just 2 small holes
