I am getting ready to stain the concrete in my basement...?

Question:I know you need to clean and etch the floor before applying the stain. We recently put up dry wall and some of the plaster dripped on the floor. Will using an acid like cleaner remove the plaster or do I need to sand the floor first?

Answers:
Joint compound may be cleaned up perfecftly well with water. Just soak it, wipe it, and repeat if necessary.

Any where you can see a spot before you stain will be there after and maybe show up more. So just clean floor really well how ever you feel comfortable . And while putting stain on try to keep as even as possible. Any puddles or thick overlaps will show . Good luck and get a fan pushing fresh air in there.
clean it with water, dry it, acid wash it and use H and C stain, it is the best.
