Well I would start by taking a BB gun apart and gaining some insight and then ask a more detailed question.

I built a needle gun a few years ago. I think BBs are Subject to magnetic Fields so the method should work and I bet you'll find all the parts you need at a starvation army or good will in toys and old radios. look at the website in source list and take your best shot
