What is the wirral? I have no idea. But if you live near a big city, there's usually ton's of giant beams you can find from old government buildings and piers. Look for a nearby log home building company or a company that builds prefab buildings from recycled wood. Ask them where they source or maybe they'll sell you their overages.
I know where the Wirral is . I went there one day to walk the dogs at Wirral country park lovely old rail station at Hadlow road car park .
They are into reclaiming there as the bandits broke into my car and claimed my wifes handbag and its contents. from under the car seat
It cost £1400 to fix the car doors since the b's were too inconsiderate to just break the windows .
I hope you find a yard that recycles wood there perhaps you should try the merseyside police as they are about as useless as an old plank.
