Decorating my room ideas??
Question:i'm 13 i love softball, volleyball, basketball, but my mom said no to a sports room, i hate the color pink i might do a beach theme. any ideas?
Answers:
I would stay away from a themed room because you may not like it in a few years. I would pick 3 or 4 colors that you like and go with a plaid and stripe. Then, use small things like throw pillows and pictures to set a theme - things that could be replaced fairly cheaply.
You could choose beach colors now and use cabana striped fabrics for bedding and window treatments, but leave the actual beachy items to pictures and small throw pillows. Then, in a few years if you wanted to go with a different theme, you could still use the same colors, but change out the smaller items.
I love beach colors and the cabana stripe fabrics are very easy to work with.
Ideas to make it beachy. throwpillows made out of beach towels (which should be getting on the clearance rack right now). Photo frames trimmed in seashells. Boards painted to look like surfboards used as shelving. Use grass skirts as a window valance.
yeah, do half the walls purple and half the walls pink or mayber your favorite color combo, mine is orange and blue good luk
A beach theme could work, but dont overdo it! You should devote one wall to a big mural type thing of the beach and do a big painting, but do the rest of the room in a color that compliments it. Whatever you do, dont choose something you wont be able to do anything with when you get sick of it in a couple years!
my room's a beach theme and i LOVE it :D
paint the walls a pale shade of blue
put up beach signs on the walls such as ones that say "Lifeguard", etc. (you can find these on ebay)
go to pbteen.com they have AMAZING stuff. no joke. they have murals for your walls too
There is a TV show called Decorating Cents on HGTV.They did a beach theme bedroom that was really cool. They did the bottom half of the walls a sand color and the top half shades of blue, not in a straight line, wavy like. They used a clear acrylic box for a headboard and filled it with sand and shells and star fish.I think the beach theme is something you can grow with
If you go to HGTV.com you can get a lot of great decorating ideas. There are a lot of "how to" video's to show you how to do a project.
