How do i build a snake cage and can i get all of the supplies at Home Depot?

Question:I have a cali king snake and want to build a cage of wood and glass, and a mesh cover for air. i used to have one with a sliding screen but it stopped sliding properly so i would rather install a hinge so i could open the door and just cut out a few holes and cover them with mesh. the cage needs to be approx. 3'x2'. Thanks for your answers

Try putting the glass together with aquarium glue. I've done this several times and it works great . I'd look at plexi- glas (also avail HD) as an alternative. Wouldn't use wood, has too many noxious chemicals applied. Good luck.

Most all the supplies are available at HD. Try using aluminum angle for the sides and bottom to reinforce and use epoxy. Also make a screen and then hinge it, you could get all the supplies at HD.

Aluminum angles-try where they keep the metal stock
Epoxy- should be in paint or plumbing
Glass and Screen making material- Should be back in the window dept.
Hinge- Probably the same aisle as the angles
Wood- well I am going to guess that is in lumber

I am not good with how much you will need of each piece but I am sure you could check the sizes offered and ask if you aren't sure how to put some of the pieces together, probably the screen took me 3 trips of buying all new material before I broke down and asked how to do it.
