What can I use to clean in between tiles?
Question:Other than the clorox pen, or clorox?
Answers:
Both above answers are correct . Use Clorox 1/2c to 1 c of water. Many different kinds of grout cleaner avail, most are based on Clorox or a derivative. Ajax and a toothbrush will work . (military solution, labor intensive) Whatever you get to work be prepared to re-grout, it'll be mandatory.
grout cleaner
if they are really bad use muriatic acid stuff is potent though worse than bleach , or the old fashioned way scrub w/ ajax
I use oxyclean with a brush.
The best thing to use when cleaning your grout is SULFAMIC acid, NOT sulfuric acid. If you have a Home Depot near you, go there. It will be in the flooring department. Follow the instructions and DON'T touch anything metallic with a fine finish because, it will eat the finish off. You will need to buy/have a pair of rubber gloves, a five gallon bucket, a wooden stir stick, SULFAMIC acid, a grouting sponge and a hard bristle brush. One canister should be more the enough. The canister will be orange and yellow in color. If you have any further questions, contact me at pisofuerte360@yahoo.com. I've been installing tile for over seven years now. This is the way I clean my personal floor at home as well my customers floors. Good luck.
Tilex for showers works great in between the tiles. I had bad stains in my old apartment and it worked well. also, one of those steam cleaners, it helped keep it clean without and scrubbing or chemicals. (It also gets wallpaper and borders off easily.)
