How can I alter my jeans?
Question:I have several pairs of jeans from before I lost weight, and they were a little big then (I think that was the fashion back then), but they are huge now. I should take some photos of me wearing them and holding out the waist -- it's like a diet commercial.
Anyway, is there a good way to alter the width of the waist and pant legs so that they fit better? I would rather do that than go out and buy all new jeans.
The more detailed the instructions the better -- I'm really bad at stuff like this.

firstly congrats on the weight loss then to the work. It takes time but is good and Willl save heaps if they are designer jeans but even if not will be a worthwhile exercise. You need to be able to have use of a sewing machine. turn the jeans inside out and put on. On each side left and right you wil be able to measure how much to remove. Don't take too much better to be a bit loose. Take off lay out on floor and cut this much out on each side from waist to foot with a good pair of scissors. Take your time and follow the outside line of the jeans pin together doing just one side at a time then sew allowing about a 1/4 inch hem. Try on after doing the first side to check for any mistakes. It will be easier on the next pair but is not really that hard so good luck. If mistakes happen you can always use jeans for painting work or camping so good luck. Maybe someone you know can help you a little. You can but ask. All will be more than helpful after such a weight loss!
Dry cleaners will do it for cheap
Get new jeans that fit and save the old ones for when you gain all the weight back.
