you can get a better quality cooler. you can also do a better job of prepping your cooler. put it in the fridge over night or in the freezer is even better. then load it with your ice and you goods. keep it out of the sun and you can wrap it with blankets or tin foil to reflect the heat.
Try using the foam insulation in a can. Be careful when using it. It is really sticky and depeding on the type you get it really expands.
