Tile Glue Removal?

Question:In process of removing old tiles from on top of older tiles (in bathroom). Can't figure out why previous homeowner did it, but nonetheless, did. Inbetween both sets of tile is a lot of glue. Any help on getting that glue off the original set of tiles? The top set of tiles came off easily, the glue doesn't. Tough scrapping and scrapping. Any help would be great!

Answers:
Brake cleaner or gasoline works wonders, (or alcohol) plus (not when using gas) use a heatgun or hair dryer to melt the glue. It should just scrape off.

W-D 40 is a great solvent.Just spray and let it set for a few minutes, then you should be able to scrape it off easily.
Xylene will remove it. It dries fairly quickly, but it is flammable until it dries. So be careful. It is the base product used in most strong thinners. You should be able to find it at your local hardware store.
