How do I... I want to create a unique finish on a built in countertop in my basement by?

Question:somehow "pasting" down movie posters and giving it a finished, glossy collage look. How do I go about doing this? The top currently has sometype of vinyl shell that is in poor condition...

Answers:
You should start by sanding the countertop. Just enough to get the shiny off. then just make a paste of white glue and water. Then decopage the movie posters on the countertop. Wait at least 24 hours to make sure it is perfectly dry. you can either put a few layers of polyurethane on it- letting it dry completely between coats OR get some of the self leveling 'hodge-podge' sold in craft stores for a thick glossy look. Read the directions carefully, as you have to make sure that you have enough product to do the whole project at one time!

You can buy clear top coat
I would cover it with a pretty color of self stick floor tiles...You can cut around the sink part...
First, lightly sand the countertop just enough to get the finish
roughed up a bit. Glue down the posters using Mod-Podge
decoupage glue that you buy at the craft store. It goes on
white, dries clear. You can either seal it with more coats of
mod-podge or use water-based polyurethane, which will
wear better in a high-use area.
