There's a couple of products that are available at home improvement stores:
One is a weed killer that is specifically engineered to only kill broad-leaf plants (weeds), while not significantly affecting bladed grasses. You spray it directly on the weeds in your lawn, either broadly to cover the whole lawn or just in the spots where the weeds are. Follow the directions and don't use too much, or it may burn the grass a bit.
Another product that you can use as maintenance is Weed and Feed (I think it's by Scott's). It's a granular fertilizer that you spread on a lawn. It retards the growth of weeds, but really perks up the grass. Don't expect the weeds to disappear right away like the spray stuff. It takes a couple of weeks for the weeds to die off. But, regular applications according to the directions will keep your lawn weed-free for as long as you use it.

Ortho markets a weed control product that is safe to use on centipede/st.augustine. Regular weed and feed as well as most weed control products for lawns are not safe for centipede/st.augustine.
I don't really remember but I think you might be able to use 2,4-D on centipede/st.augustine. Again read over the label to be sure. It has been a while since I did lawns.
