How do you get paint off of linoleum that has been there awhile without stripping the top of your floor?

Question:

Answers:
You can try softening one edge of it with paint thinner, applying the thinner only on the top corner of the paint.
Then use a scrapper to try and scrap the rest.

Very carefully use a putty knife.
Extremely carefully use a razor.
A weakened (watered down) paint stripper solution should also do the trick, try in an inconspicuous spot first.
Try using a paint scraper if they are spots. If they are smears you will need to use the same liquid you would use to thin the paint.
With a soft cloth or old rag, wipe with Turps or White Spirit, wash with liquid detergent and warm water after the paint is out
Try WD40 and then scrub it off. Believe it or not, it works great!
Put Ice on it until it's frozen, then use a razor scrapper. It will pop right off.
You will probably do better cutting out a square and replace it. Heat it with a heat gun to remove the square you cut out. Match up the pattern to the new square and install as norm.

(its just easier this way)
Deluted terpentine should help. Fingernail polish remover is less invasive and should help too.
Hmmmm, just replace the linoleum. It's not very durable or pretty, generally.
