they dont work as every time the L falls off it gets set on fire.
Having no idea what a Larsen trap was, I did a web search and ran across an article on how to build a Larsen trap.

nature can be cruel but when man steps in and interferes with nature thats when things go wrong.
Just let the birds live as nature intended and don't interfere.
the larsen trap looks pretty cruel to me. what are you going to do with the magpies when you trap them . remember they are wild birds and I am sure they are protected by law.
ring the Game conservancy trust on Tel: 01425 652381 and they will send you a copy of the plans for a few quid

magpies are the cruelest of birds they sit and wait for the young to take wing even the wren, in the country they wait for the ewes to lamb to take out the eyes of the newborn lamb as do crows, they also raid the nest of the hens and eat the eggs that i used to love for breakfast and for making cakes, the way to kill them is to bait a piece of bacon with rat poison, they are not a protected species, you will not have to watch the vermin die as it will fly away to find some water & thats what kills it water mixed with the poison,
