Need advice about wood for deck after wood got wet.?
Question:I just finished a deck [2X6's] but I have to redo it because I did not put enough joists in. But we got alot of rain and I am afraid the wood is wet. Should I wait until the deck is completely dry before taking it apart to re-do it again? Because I dont want the wood to warp. Please need your advice. Thank you so much

I know you are having problems with your deck. You placed you joist at 24"oc. and have found that is too far apart. Since you have not disassembled it, it would make much more sense to add joist with the decking in place. You may use more lumber but will save alot of time and effort.
Just add another joist between the existing joist. It is not that much more wood that placing them at 16"oc.
Yesterday, I assumed you had already disassembled the decking.
being wet isn't bad but see if you can get under the deck and put the extra joists in you can tape them in with your hammer I hope you uses screws this makes it better to repair it down the road and make sure you water proff it with thomsons water sealer you can use a pump bottle 9.97 at wal mart just wash it out after your dome .I have biuld 3 decks around my house and I put the joist 16" on center I also ran suports from the beams down to the ground for extra suport if you use the water proffer you will have to use a oil base paint extor paint will come off in not oil base good luck and have a partner help you out
You should be using AQC or pressure treated lumber for your deck, it is already wet and yes it will warp over time. Oh even if it is not treated, it will warp over time. If it is composite, it WILL warp over time. Basically there is nothing to do about it,all decking warps and blisters and peels over time. Do what you have to do and enjoy your work! Good luck
