How do i run cable from one room to another?
Question:I want to run cable from one room to another on the same floor without destroying the house. If possible I could also run it up from the ceiling of the room below.

You don't mention how handy your are or if the ceiling below is a suspended ceiling. I ran cable throughtout my whole house.
I have a DirecTV 4 connection setup. The professional way is to cut an outlet size hole in the sheetrock and use a plastic box with ears for attachment. You can buy the cable in the lenghts that is required for the run. You may also need a splitter if you are splitting the signal. After you run the cable you connect it to a cable plate that is called a barrel connector,(big box retail) the other end is attached to you TV. This method involves an electrician's snake and drilling through the sole plate of the wall. Again, I don't know how handy you are. You can just staple the new cable along the base board to the next room.
You need to give a better description of where you are running from. Is it a house or high rise apartment because some of those walls are solid concrete. If it is a house you can run it thru the basement and up into the rooms floor
Most electricians run it through the attic and down the wall from there. You can use fish tape to pull it through the wall if needed.
If this is a new light or outlet I do not recommed hooking it up to the circuit breaker pannel yourself I would call in a contractor for that.
Also, never work with live wire, that is dangerous and unwise. Just dio not connect the wire to anything on either end when runing it through the attic. Thats the best way to insure its not a live wire.
The best thing to do is run it up through the room below. Drill a small hole where you want the cable to go and pull it up through the hole and connect it. It is the fastest and neatest way to run cable, you don't want wire running across the floor or up a wall and down a wall.
try to hide the cable as best as you can.Depends on what kind of structure you live in.Dont staple the cable to your baseboards
