Answers:
You probably stay up late and need to wake up early. Solution: Go to bed early.
Do what the military does. Before you go to bed drink 16 oz of water
the urge to pee will make you get up early
try an alarm clock that looks and sounds like your mother.
Hit yourself in the face really hard about ten times. If that doesn't work, try dunking your head in the toilet until you feel more awakened and refreshed. Hope this helps.
Before you go to sleep at night, drink a lot of water. It's an old American Indian alarm clock.
Put a loud alarm clock across the room ya gotta get up to take it off don't lie back down after you do and put an ice cold rag to your face.
Sounds like ya need to grow up and get an alarm clock. Mom's not going to be there forever.
Good luck!
Have a really loud alarm clock that you can't turn off except by getting out of bed to do it - put it on the other side of the room.
Not being able to wake up is often du to lack of sleep or poor nutrition. It has come as a conclusion that many people lack Vitamine B. This is a key element in having lots of energy. You might want to try going to bed earlyer combined with some multivitamins such as Centrum. I know as a fact it has helped alot of our patients.
I am also a heavy sleeper, and this is what I do. I set the alarm for the time that I want to get up, and I put the alarm clock somewhere fairly far away from my bed. I also turn it on really loud. So then when it goes off I can't ignore it or shut it off immediately so I have to get up and walk to shut of the alarm, which usually wakes me up. Well, that's what works for me anyway!
Drink water before bed and throughout the night so you'll have to wake up to pee every 2-3 hours.
the old clock radio trick across the room works, turn the volume up loud all the way, and prepare to have the sh-t scared out of you, when it comes on ! You'll be up for sure ! get yourself right into the shower, RIGHT AWAY !
Well the first year I lived on my own I had 1 nor 2 but 3 alarm clocks and my mom had to call me in the morning several times to wake me up. Also don't forget my alarm clock on my cell phone. Getting up in the morning is a habit that you have to keep in line. For some people it is easy but for others it is a skill. Put a alarm clock on the other side of the room with a loud annoying beeping noise, when it goes off in the morning you will have to get out of bed to turn it off - BUT DO NOT GO BACK TO BED AFTER, Works likes a charm.
have your stereo put on a timer, and play it loud, also put a bright light on a timer the bright light will wake you up eventhough your eyes are closed. next try going to bed earlier.
Get to a truck stop and buy a "Screaming Meemie" alarm. This is not a clock, but a alarm you set to go off in x hours. If you set it for 8 hrs, you will only need it to go off once. The fear of that noise will wake you up just b4 it goes off again. PS. It takes a light on, 2 hands and coordination to shut it off!!
I agree with the urge to pee will wake you up, but honestly that can make you relatively uncomfortable if you drink that much in a short period of time. I say multiple alarm clocks around the room, hide one the night before. I find that alarms with buzzers or those that ring work better for me because the radio sounds just blend with my dreams. I have three alarmclocks in my room and it takes two or more to wake me up each day. Also, are you more comfortable in a cool or warm environment to sleep? Try to make it a bit warmer (with the thermostat), because then your body won't want to hibernate in the warm sheets as long as you would if your room was cold. or if you can set a fan on an electric timer (easily purchased) and set it to blow cold air on you at a certain time in the morning! g'luck!
Alright. i have a solution. get a large bucket of ice cold water, and glue it to a shelf above your bed. Get an alarm clock, and rig the shelf up to flip and pour the ice water on your head exactly four seconds after the alarm clock rings. Not only will it teach you to wake up whenever the alarm clock rings, but it'll also improve your reflexes.
What you do is as you lay down to sleep you tell yourself "gotta get up at 5(or whatever time)" Visualize the clock with the hands and make it go around to midnight to 2AM,3AM, to 5AM and see your eyes open as you get out of bed refreshed.
Do that visulization a couple times with your eyes closed in the dark.
It sound hokey but it works. You set your body clock. I get up within 15 minutes of the time I set in my head...as I have multiple shift jobs.
I can sleep thru lightning storms and rain torrents and telephone ringing in the same room.
if you live in a house hook up your clock to a 12" fire bell. that's what I did. trust me...it works.
do cardio every morning. this way you will get a good nights sleep and will cause you to go to bed early
Snoozester SecureAwake works pretty well for me. give it a try: http://snoozester.com/wake-up-calls.snoo...
Get a wife. The constant nagging won't let you get to sleep in the first place
Discipline. After you get fired from a few jobs or too many tardies in school, whatever the case may be, you will learn to wake up with an alarm clock. Forget all the stupid tricks and tell yourself you will wake up in the morning, and quit making excuses that you can't do it.
They make alarm clocks that shake you awake. Deaf and blind people use them. If sound won't wake up up from sleep, maybe the shaking will.
Also, you might want to consider getting an appropriate amount of sleep for yourself. If you know you can't function without 12 hours of sleep, make time for it and then you may wake up more naturally in the AM. Good luck!
