Where can I buy a new bathtub that is the same shape as one made in the 1950's?

Question:I need a corner bathtub that is the same general shape as your average bathtub, but is finished on two sides, so that it can go into a corner with 2 walls instead of an alcove with 3 walls. I have been looking for a used one to no avail. I called my local specialty plumbing supply store which usually has everything, and they said they can't get it. I saw one in the new Soft Scrub Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser commercial that is *exactly* what I want, so I'm hoping I can get one somewhere.

What you need is architectural salvage. Look in your area for a salvage yard, tell them what you want and wait for them to call. That is what we do when we are doing a retro design. There just isn't enough demand for manufacturers to produce them and they do pop into the secondary markets from remodels, especially in older neighborhoods. The one in the commercial was sandblasted and painted to spec (notice it matches the product color)?

You might have better luck and spend less to have a small wall built to make a 3-wall space i just spent an hour looking and the tubs i found were about 5,000 to start.
You might will have to go online and check out some website that carry tub. Go to lowes.com and homedepot.com
refinish what you got, or build a head wall & doll it up with crown molding & slate!
